Welcome to my new website which marks the release of my first solo CD - .

1999 has been one of the most hectic years so far of my life.........but one of the most exciting!!! 2000 will see me releasing bold on my own record label called peerie angel productions .

Peerie means small in Shetland dialect and the label is named after the first fiddle group that I played in at the age of 12.  The story continues.....In 1980 my fiddle teacher, the late Dr Tom Anderson took to the stage at the local Miss Islesburgh beauty show with 10 of his young pupils, all female, of which I was one. The next day the local newspaper, The Shetland Times heralded us as Tammy`s peerie angels, a name that stuck for a number of years until this group eventually turned into the well-known Shetland fiddle group, Shetland's Young Heritage, who are still going strong to this day.
Unfortunately Tammy died 8 years ago, and I personally miss the great influence he had on my life.......so when coming to the naming of this new and exciting adventure of making a CD on your own label its seems only right that my connection with the man who instilled into me the love I have to this day of the music and traditions of my homeplace in Shetland is recognised. He always told me he'd be sitting up there watching all his pupils from a blue cloud!!!

was recently recorded at Castlesound Studio in Pencaitland, Scotland ... a fantastic studio with the amazing engineering skills of Stuart Hamilton... and features many of my favourite musicians who I am so glad and honoured were happy to join me on this new project.
There are star turns from bass player Conrad Ivitsky, and pianist David Milligan. Conrad is currently a member of funksters Shooglenifty, and David is heavily involved in the Edinburgh jazz scene and an integral part of the wonderful Bachue. This trio plan to work together as a touring project in 2000 to support the CD release.

Other gorgeous guests include top percussionist James Mackintosh and my former playing partner Ian Lowthian, with his wizard piano accordion playing and stunning guitarist Tony McManus. There is also a cameo appearance from ex-Anam bodhran player and my best friend Aimee Leonard (with baby McLeod on board). As an extra flavour I'd always wanted one of Norway's top church organists, Iver Kleive, to join me for a few tunes and we spent a great day in St Marys Church, Haddington. Iver as well as all the other musicians staggered me with their musicianship...thanks to them all.

I hope you enjoy the CD as much as I did making it!!!!
